Everything has closed down for the day in this small fishing village except The Lonely Mermaid, the local tavern. The locals always meet there after a busy day fishing to discuss their catch, weather, and other village gossip. Some of the men have gathered outside to talk about the impending storm on the horizon. The sail maker has worked a little overtime today. His children have walked down to meet him for the walk home. The fisherman is waiting with his dog for the midwife to arrive. He sent his son in the trap to fetch Abigail Spinner, the midwife and her daughter who she is training. Abigail is the village midwife as her mother before her and her daughter will take over for her one day.
