It is autumn time in the little seaside village of Pequod Harbor. The captain is having a chat in front of his house with a neighbor. The ladies are shopping and catching up on the latest gossip in front of Ahab Tanner's store. The two boys are running down the road to get away from the store. They just pinched 2 apples from the outside stand. The names throughout this painting are taken from the novel Moby Dick, one of my favorites.
